Building Code Of Australia Has Changed In 2016

Significant changes to the Sound Insulation Rating of Floors in the latest Building Code of Australia 2016.

When a FLOORING product has an Acoustic Test result of “LnT,w + C1” it does NOT QUALIFY anymore to Australian Standards, and?it does not pass the sound insulation rating of floors in Australia.?This type of test is now considered a failed test result, making it?a very high risk product.
  • When your flooring doesn’t comply with the Building Code of Australia, the major risk is that the flooring may have to be replaced entirely at your own cost, to comply with new regulations.

New Rating:

LnT,w < 62 dB

Class 2, 3 and 9c Buildings Must Comply with the BCA Specifications for Sound Insulation Rating of Floors, for example: multi level buildings.

Acoustic LuxFeel TEST

Definitions:

Class 2 building: a building containing 2 or more sole-occupancy units each being a separate dwelling.
Class 3 building: a residential building, other than class 1 or 2 building, which is a common place of long term or transient living for a number of unrelated persons. Example: boarding-house, hostel, backpackers accommodation, residential part of a hotel, motel, school or detention centre.
Class 9C building: A building of a public nature: an aged care building.
