Standard Luxfeel Loose Lay is now Acoustically Rated
Luxfeel 4.2 mm loose lay vinyl plank has been tested in a building on the Gold Coast Australia, passing the Acoustic requirements with a low reading of only 50 dB Lntw.
How to ensure new flooring is compliant with BCA?
To adequately assess whether the hard floor surface you intend to lay will not cause a disturbance, we recommend choosing an acoustic flooring type, that will save you the hassle of extra layers of underlay.
The Building Code of Australia (BCA) sets a standard for impact noise transmission not greater than (Ln,Tw = 62dB). This is a measure of the noise produced by the hard floor surface. Therefore, the first thing you should do is to request a copy of a laboratory certificate confirmation from your supplier confirming that your hard floor surface will meet that standard.
As per the BCA, A floor in a Class 2 or 3 building must have an L?n,w + Cl (impact) not more than 62 if it separates: sole-occupancy units; or a sole-occupancy unit from a plant room, lift shafts, stairway, public corridor, public lobby or the like, or part of a different classification.
